Project details:
Branded a state-of-the-art leisure centre, the new Winchester Sport and Leisure Park has been a well-welcomed addition to the community. The development features a range of facilities including a fitness centre, swimming pool with a 50m main pool, teaching pool and splash pad. A Hydrotherapy Suite including treatment rooms, a cafe and outdoor terrace are also exciting additions.
Project challenges:
Large areas of sports pitches and parkland were incorporated as part of the new development and planting boundary areas were created at the main entrance which included trees, greenery and bark to harmonise with the surrounding environment.
FurnitubesRailRoad Delta seatingwas selected by the main building contractors Willmott Dixon for the external seating at the front entrance of the new development. The seating was to be positioned to fit around the large landscaped areas and so required made to measure modules to fit.
Solution(s)
RailRoad Delta supports were unusually combined with RailRoad Loop rounded-edge timbers to create fluid seating elements which synchronize with the planting beds, and provide a distinctive seating solution for the visitors of Winchester Sport and Leisure Park.
